LeaseLedger

LeaseLedger is a landlord-led rental evidence and deposit resolution app built for real-world property disputes. It gives landlords and tenants a shared case workspace where move-in, move-out, damage, and repair evidence can be submitted, reviewed, and disputed in a structured way. Instead of relying on scattered chats, emails, and screenshots, LeaseLedger creates a tamper-evident timeline of what was submitted, when it was submitted, and how the other party responded. Raw evidence stays private offchain, while compact proof metadata and workflow events are anchored to Hedera. Once a settlement is approved, the refund can be scheduled and executed through a controlled native workflow. The goal is to make deposit disputes more transparent, less stressful, and far easier to audit with potentially to be extended as a full subletting platform. Being based in NY there feels a luck of transparent and clear platforms that could help tenants or landlords to safely sublet their places.

LeaseLedger is built as a Next.js web app with TypeScript and a clean landlord-first UX, plus a limited case-specific tenant flow. The frontend uses Tailwind for styling and reusable UI components for the evidence, timeline, and settlement flows. On the backend, the app uses Supabase for Postgres persistence, auth, and private file storage. Evidence files are stored offchain in encrypted form, while the system computes file hashes and writes compact event records to Hedera. We use Hedera Consensus Service to create an immutable case timeline for events like case creation, evidence submission, disputes, deduction proposals, and approvals. We use Hedera Scheduled Transactions for refund execution, and Mirror Node to read the event history back into the app so users can see a verified timeline.
